Food Justice Organizing Nodes

The Colorado Food Justice Toolkit is organized around four organizing nodes, trauma and inequity, exchange, land, and labor. Across the state, groups are working to advance food justice in many ways. From grassroots formations and cooperatives to non-profits and social enterprises, people are organized around one or more of these nodes. In doing so, they are confronting entrenched problems associated with the global industrial food system and a range of economic and social problems.

The toolkit highlights such food justice efforts throughout the state. Stemming from the work of students at Colorado State University, we learn through a variety of storytelling devices and creative mediums about the inequities communities face, visions for a different world, and practices to inspire a food system built on food justice.
